Expectations were so high because the first movie was THAT good. I believe Bridesmaids was actually better because the expections were much lower. Anyways, the movie was set in Bangkok; which already foreshadows girls with penis’ in my mind. However, the three stooges next to me did not know. When a scene with all the “girls” came up with their “boobies” showing, they were salivating, excited and even cheering. I whispered to my friend, “funny that they don’t know those are actually guys.” When they finally revealed their junk, I laughed sooo hard at the realization on their faces. As I’ve said before in Sucker Punch, Jamie Chung is absolutely gorgeous. The movie is funny and enjoyable, but the expectations from anyone that saw the first one would be too high. The movie lacked originality; it was dejavu in Bangkok. B-

I was initially very excited to watch this movie since I love the music and Johnny Depp. However, this movie was not as exciting as I would have hoped and some moments almost put me to sleep. The mermaids in the movie were pretty hot; but since it’s a Disney movie, they couldn’t show nudity. If it had nudity, it would have scored higher. Oh well, the ‘curve’ or lack thereof result in a much lower grade. It is films like this that inspired my site to exist, to keep Hollywood in check. The new X-men movie is worth it to go see (we got to watch it for free, USC tuition giving back…a little). The only thing that was missing was a sneak preview of the Avengers or something at the end of the movie. There was a funny but racist moment with Shaw (Kevin Bacon) and Darwin (the black guy that adapts to survive), Lets see if you catch that. They found a way to incorporate Cold War history and old videos of JFK, nice. Overall, James Mcavoy (who I keep getting confused with Zach Braff) and Michael Fassbender did an excellent job. B+
